Valmike trained at Central School of Speech &
Drama, London. Prior to his graduation in July 2007 he appeared
in numerous independent theatre productions as well as Right
Hand Drive and Jen, his first two feature films.
Right Hand Drive is due for release in 2008.
He has also appeared in numerous short films,
including Aisha and Nadeem, with executive producer Marc
Boothe, which was picked up at the Clermont-Ferrand short film
festival. It also received first runner up at the Satyajit Ray
Awards.
Upon graduation Valmike performed in sell out
shows of Collision, at The Edinburgh
Fringe Festival, Roxy theatre, 2007. His first green screen
project Get to Know Me, shot at Lars Von Trier's Zentropa
studios, Denmark and directed by Tommy Ipsen is also due for a
late 2008 release. Valmike spent two years juggling his job in
communications with training in Method acting in the evenings
and at weekends. He then gave up his demanding day job to pursue
his ambition to become an actor and enrolled full time at
Central School of Speech and Drama.
He most recently played a 21 year old suicidal
manic depressive opposite BAFTA nominee, Saeed Jaffrey in
Open Secrets, currently making it's way around the film
festivals, as well as a guest role on the popular BBC Radio
drama, Silverstreet. |
